What is Hair Replacement Surgery?

Hair Replacement SurgeryHair Replacement Surgery is a method of bringing back hair growth to a scalp that has bald patches which prove to be difficult to treat with non-surgical options. When one asks, "what is Hair Replacement Surgery?" One should be able to explain to such an individual exactly what happens during the procedure.

Hair replacement involves selecting portions of the scalp that have healthy hair growth. These portions will be used as the donors for the patches that have no hair growth. When selection is done the patient is then given a sedative and a topical anesthetic that is applied to the scalp. The donor skin on the scalp is nicely cut out and each and every hair follicle is extracted. This process is done with the use of some micro precision medical apparatuses including some microscopes to enhance visibility. Once the individual hair follicles have been extracted from the donor skin, the portion to receive the hair follicles is then punctured by use of some micro puncturing tool. Each and every hair follicle is the introduced into the punctured holes. Placement of hair follicles into punctured holes follows some predetermined pattern that follows the person's original hair pattern. Once hair follicles have been planted, the patient is then dressed and is given some antibiotics, anticoagulants and other drugs that prevent rejection of donated hair follicles.

Hair growth does not occur immediately after Hair Replacement Surgery, in fact the transplanted hair will start to fall out days after the transplant. There is no need to worry though, for it is meant to be like that. When all the transplanted hair has fallen out, the transplanted follicles will start to adjust to the new locations after a period of about two months, and the transplanted hair follicles will start to produce hair strands. It is advised that patients don't expose their scalps to sunlight during this period. Patients that have gone through hair replacement surgery can also boost hair growth from transplanted follicles by applying hair replacement drugs such as Revivogen, which speed up the rate of hair growth.

Does anyone know where I can go to get hair replacement surgery for cheap?
I have been starting to lose my hair since my early twenties and wanted to get hair replacement surgery. I went to a well known hair replacement company here in NYC. The cost is so expensive $7,600 for 2,000 grafts. Does anyone know where I can get such a surgery cheaper than this? Probably half of the price I mentioned or less.

Is finasteride (propecia) drug safe?
I have had hair replacement surgery: 6 months ago. I am prescribed to take finasteride/propecia for baldness by my hair replacement physician. However, I bought it online through an international pharmacy based at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories based in India. I looked them up on the Internet and it looks safe. (I read the Wikipedia article on the company) I notice that when I take the drug my hair looks thicker and fuller. I really hate to give it up. I bought the 5 mg finasteride. However, I don't take the full pill. I take very miniscule part of the tablet. I notice that after I take the drug, I have a very increased heart rate (really fast). I am little unsure if thinking about side effects of the drug makes me nervous. I've taken the pill for weeks and nothing has happened, but wonder if it safe for me to continue to take this drug. Does anyone have any experiences about it?
